The Tick

The "Tick" is a complete data radio that parasitically draws all of its operating power from the RS232 data interface. Wireless RS232 with absolutely no external power required.

Complete, Sophisticated Data Radios
All data radio functions are built in, including the antenna, Transmit/Receive (T/R) switch, RF power amplifier, crystal-controlled baseband processor and MAC (Media Access Controller). The sophistication extends to ARQ (automatic retries) with User-programmable retry count. The Tick will re-send the data until it is received perfectly by the Target radio or the Retry Attempt Counter is exhausted.

Any Standard RS232 Serial Data
True wireless RS232. The User simply feeds in industry standard asynchronous serial RS232 data from any RS232 capable device. The Tick automatically packetizes the data stream, attaches the Target address, Initiator address, packet ID, Data Packets and Error Detection Check Sum in a DC-balanced RF stream for maximum Target Receiver sensitivity.

RS232 Signal Power Conversion
The Tick utilizes a patent-pending power conversion circuit which draws evenly from each input, irrespective of whether the input(s) are in the V- or V+ polarity, and even inputs which are in transition. Wireless RS232 from any compliant interface.
