SerialLAN is a Wireless LAN (WLAN) with two RS232 Serial Ports. Compatible worldwide with all 802.11g (and b) devices. A SerialLAN can transmit the RS232 (RS485 & RS422 with optional converter module) data from the serial ports to/from another SerialLAN or to any 802.11g or 802.11b compatible WLAN, Access Point, Router, PCMCIA card, network, PC, Laptop, Tablet, PDA; or anywhere in the World via Internet.
Features:
• Links to any other 802.11b/g wireless WLAN device or an
802.11b/g Access Point or Router.
• Links to another SerialLAN device in a “Peer” One-to-One link.
• Supports full mobility and seamless roaming from cell to cell.
• Superior WPA encryption can change Encryption Key for every
packet with WPA-AES and WPA-TKIP.
• Full Duplex Bi-Directional - Serial Data In, and Serial Data Out.
• Data Rates individually Programmable up to 115 kbps. and as
low as 300 bps.
• Local Hardware Flow Control RTS/CTS Handshake signals.
• Software Flow Control (XON/XOF)
• Interface to RS485 & RS422 devices with
optional converter (82-3142)
• Easy Set Up is quickly accomplished with the
Data Hunter USB Set-Up Utility.
• Also Remote Set Up of the RS232 Serial port settings,
remotely over-the-air via the wireless TCP/IP Link (or via USB).
• LED Status Indicators - Installation, monitoring and diagnostics supported by valuable LED Status and Activity indicators.
• Power from +5.0 to +30 VDC
• Power directly from any instrument: PLC, Controller, N/C machine, DNC controller including
24VDC controller power supplies.
• Power directly from automotive power in vehicle applications, including auto, truck, bus, tractor and boat.
• Antenna Connector RP-SMA allows RF cable extender to locate antenna away from SerialLAN or
add high-gain antennas and magnetic-mount antennas.
Installation Versatility – Many Connection Options:
• Connect SerialLAN(s) to Access Point
• Connecting SerialLAN to PC/Laptop
• Connecting SerialLAN to SerialLAN
• Connecting SerialLAN to Internet
• Two RS232 ports – one Male wired as DTE and one Female wired as DCE (Virtually guarantees that at least
one port will connect with a “straight” cable to your RS232 device without any tricky crossover wiring.)
